What a great training session I had on Monday night. Jakki came and straight away said we are going for a run. She slowed me right down and said she thought I was starting off too fast. We ran for about 10 minutes, and then she had me running intervals at lamp posts. When I got to a lamp post I had to run as fast as I could until the next one, then slow right down to little more than a fast walk, then at the next post off I had to go again! That really got the heartbeat up! In total we were out for 25 minutes, so far better that I’ve done by myself. I have to say without her pushing me I wouldn’t have done the last 5 minutes, but hey, that’s still 5 minutes longer than I’ve managed before! We then did some pad work. I really enjoy doing that – talk about getting rid of your aggression! Not sure what Alfie thought though when he walked in to see me punching a strange woman! Then we finished with crunches for my wobbly tummy!
Jakki has suggested I try to run three times a week, going slowly and gradually building up the time I’m running for. When I get home I’m to do crunches for my tummy. Then on the other days some swimming or yoga – but not to overdo it otherwise I’ll end up with an injury.
I felt so positive at the end of the session. I was ashamed to give Jakki my food diary, and the good session combined with knowing I’ve got to hand over another food diary has spurred me on to make more of an effort with my diet. No more snacking on chocolate and crisps!
With it being bank holiday next Monday, I’m seeing Jakki again in two weeks time when she wants us to go out for 40 – 45 mins (help).
I’ve noticed my shins starting to hurt a bit, so although my trainers are quite new, I think I will have to buy some good quality running shoes. I thought I would really ache this morning, but I’m not too bad.
Until next time
